Dr. Stephanie Hukill is a board-certified pediatric dentist who is thrilled to serve her hometown community of Charlotte! Growing up, Dr. Hukill always knew she wanted to work with children, and she even majored in psychology with a focus on childhood development at Duke University. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 2008, she pursued her passion for dentistry at the University of Michigan, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2012.

Driven by her love for working with children, Dr. Hukill completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in 2014. Her dedication to providing the highest quality care led her to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2015, a distinction that sets her apart from many other practices in the area.

As a mother of three young children, Dr. Hukill understands the importance of building strong relationships with her patients and their families. She loves connecting with them at her children's school, church, and various sporting events around town. Dr. Hukill believes in creating a hometown practice where she has the time and space to get to know each child and their unique needs.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hukill's greatest joy is spending time with her family. They love spending time outside, whether it's a weekend at the lake or cheering on their kids on the field. As a proud alumna of both Duke and Michigan, Dr. Hukill also enjoys supporting her alma maters' teams.

Dr. Monica Patel is a dedicated board-certified pediatric dentist with a passion for helping children maintain healthy, confident smiles. From an early age, Dr. Patel knew she wanted to work with children, and she has built her career around providing exceptional care to young patients. She’s excited to serve the
Charlotte community and call it home. Prior to moving to Charlotte, she worked in private practice in Columbus, Ohio, and taught at the pediatric residency program there.

She began her academic journey by earning a BS in Business Management from Case Western Reserve University in 2006, before pursuing her true calling in dentistry. Dr. Patel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and was also honored with the Henry B. Robinson Award which is offered to a graduating student who demonstrates the highest proficiency in all phases of clinical dentistry.

Following her passion for working with children, she completed her pediatric dental residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University in 2012. While there she served as Chief Resident and earned a master’s degree (MS) for her thesis on behavior guidance techniques, which she later published in the American Journal of Pediatric Dentistry in 2016. In 2013, Dr. Patel passed her board certification exam, making her one of the few board-certified pediatric dentists in the area who have taken this extra step to prove excellence in their field. She renewed her board certification with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2023 to continue her commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Dr. Patel loves building lasting relationships with her patients. She believes that getting to know each child personally is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job. Whether it's calming nerves, sharing a laugh, or celebrating dental milestones, she takes the time to connect with her patients. Working with different personalities and discovering each child's unique traits is what makes her job so fun. She especially enjoys the honesty, innocence and curiosity of children, which makes every day exciting and unique.

Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, staying active and cheering on the Steelers and Buckeyes. As a proud Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she enjoys a fun in-office rivalry with Dr. Stephanie, who roots for the Michigan Wolverines, making football season especially exciting!

During your child's new patient exam, we focus on creating a fun, engaging experience that helps them feel at ease. We start with a gentle, comprehensive evaluation of your child's oral health, taking the time to explain each step in a way that's easy for them to understand. Our team will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your child's specific needs, and we'll provide you with the tools and knowledge to support their oral health at home.

What to Bring

Please bring your child's insurance card, a list of any medications they're taking, and a completed patient registration form. We also offer an online portal so that all necessary forms can be filled out in advance. This way, you and our team can focus all of our attention on your little one, making for a stress free first appointment!
